About Lindsay Lewis

The Wild Linds is your one-stop shop for all things when wanting to experience nature. With a goal to get the average person more in touch with their surroundings. The Wild Linds prides itself on providing trusted recommendations for eco-tours, fishing/diving charters, wildlife encounters, and even some local restaurants to keep you fueled on your journey. Along with handy travel guides, The Wild Linds has partnered with eco-friendly products to work towards a plastic-free future.

Lindsay is the founder and creator of The Wild Linds. She grew up along bustling southeast Florida's intercoastal waterway, fascinated by the world around her. At 11 years old Lindsay started a non-profit organization called “Clean It Up” with hopes of raising money to get a boat with nets on the side to pick up garbage in canals around her neighborhood. The project would continue for 4 years, and while it never did come to reality her desire to help the planet has never burnt out. When time came for college Lindsay studied Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at University of Florida. In 2017 she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree and has since been working to find out as much as she can about our natural world. Marine mammals have always held Lindsay’s heart; so upon graduation she pursued and completed a marine mammal training internship at Miami Seaquarium off Key Biscayne, FL. For 7 months she observed key behaviors and developed special skills to identify marine mammals individually. Eager to see more, Lindsay moved to Bar Harbor, Maine for 3 consecutive summers to work for the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company. While employed she served as a Deckhand, Galley Manager and most importantly Naturalist; guiding eco tours in the waters surrounding Acadia National Park. Moving on from Whale watching Lindsay began guiding Manatee Swim Tours in Crystal River, Florida. She would lead manatee tours as well as scallop fishing charters for a year before heading back to her roots in southeast Florida. Currently she leads tours throughout Everglades National Park and the Florida keys, sharing her passion for conservation through tourism keeps her dream alive. Goals for the future include leading everyday people to get outside their comfort zone and connect with nature… as well as experiencing as much for herself as possible. Lindsay truly feels the best teacher is experience and the only way we can desire to protect something is if we can get outside and fall in love with it.
